'Goodbye', old friend: It's always the hardest word :(

Portrait photo of a horse

Monday was a somewhat emotional day for me. I had to say farewell to my 30-year-old horse. A horse bred by my mother and given to me when he was 4/5 years old as a birthday present.

The day before, I gave him a good wash and a groom, a bit of fuss and TLC. I reflected on how few photos I had over 30 years, packed full of memories. It reminded me how important they are and how easily they can be lost over time, particularly if they never get printed.

It also confirmed to me how offering free photo shoots through my Blues Legacy is such a valuable offer.

I took a few photos, so I had some up-to-date ones and took a little of his tail to be made into a keepsake.

He was an awesome horse who gave me some of my most exhilarating moments and some of my most painful!

He was loved by so many, ridden by a lucky few and is remembered by all who knew him as a true 'legend'.

Goodbye, old friend, fly high. See you again, X
