Non-existent summer, Where Did Summer Go?
Well? where did it go?
I honestly don't feel like we even had the summer holidays!
I had two boys starting new chapters in their educational lives this year and my summer seemed to be consumed with getting them and all their stuff ready before setting off on our week away the last week of the holidays.
In between this trying to earn a living, largely through my part-time equine work, as it appears that summer wasn't the only thing that didn't turn up this year.
Photography work over the summer was also very quiet. After my busiest than ever Bluebell sessions, the odd equine job and my Lavender field sessions, I hardly picked up the camera for work at all.
The last week has seen a flush of jobs, so at least I do have some photos to work on now.
Christmas is coming and I am completely undecided on what to do this year.
Do I spend money on hiring out the hall for in person photo shoots as I have done the last couple of years, which usually only takes enough money to break even but i do enjoy the human contact. Or do I just go with an alternative and cheaper idea I have had to let people send me photos of their kids/family etc and place these on a festive background of their choice?
Alternatively I could do both but I am very much feeling the pressure of time with it already being mid-way through September!
My other thought was to contact Christmas tree farms and offer to take photos of people coming to choose and collect their trees. Something I am working on. It seems in some cases other photographers have beaten me to this in the past, not made a very good job of it and scared the owners off from having photographers again. Such is life. (eye roll to the heavens)

It's been several months since my last blog. I have just been feeling a little unmotivated.
I have been having issues with the technology I have to use for my photography work too, to the point I seriously considered jacking it all in. I swear to god there is nothing more stressful in life than technology that you have to have but really know very little about, suddenly deciding it doesn't want to do what it's supposed to anymore.
Luckily I cope slightly better with these things than my husband who would have had said instrument of mental torture sailing through and out the window at the first sign of defiance.
Well, I can't have a blog on a photography page with no photos, so here are a couple of photos from the few shoots I did do during the summer. And here's to a better one next year!
